SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's swimming team wrapped up their home schedule and regular season slate with the Swarthmore Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Garnet swam against competitors from Franklin & Marshall, Shippensburg and Bryn Mawr.
Alyssa Berman, Liz Gallagher, Daniela Kim, Zoe Myers-Bochner and Olivia Stoetzer wrapped up a career of hardwork and dedication in the pool as they competed in their final meet for the Garnet.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Stoetzer posted a lifetime best in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:58.55, while also recording a lifetime-best 50 free split. The senior also had college-best marks in the 100 (55.43) and 500 freestyle (5:12.86).
- Berman swam college best times in the 50 freestyle (25.76) and 100 butterfly (59.75). The senior also recorded college bests splits in the 50 fly on the medley relay and 50 freestyle on the freestyle relay. Berman's 50 fly split marked a lifetime best.
- Kim posted three college-best times in individual events. The senior touched the wall at 2:16.21 in the 200 IM, 1:09.16 in the 100 breaststroke and 2:30.78 in the 200 breaststroke.
- Gallagher achieved season-best marks in the 200 (2:16.90) and 100 butterflies (58.92) as she posted the fastest mark in both events.
- Vivian Guo swam season-bests in all three of her events. She swam a 5:18.43 in the 500 freestyle, 2:00.57 in the 200 freestyle and 18:17.76 in the 1650 freestyle. The junior also recorded a lifetime best 50 freestyle split in the relay event.
- Paige Poteet earned a lifetime best 50 breast split on the medley relay. She also recorded season-bests in the 200 IM (2:12.39) and 50 freestyle (25.15).
- Laura Strachan swam to four season-bests on the weekend. The junior earned season-best marks in the 100 (1:04.60) and 50 freestyle (29.22), while also earning a pair of season-bests splits in the relay events.
- Sophia Caceres and Ryleigh Vallejo both wrapped up their first-year campaigns with a pair of season bests, respectively.
- Myers-Bochner posted a season-best split in the 50 freestyle in the freestyle relay.
