SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Swarthmore College Field Hockey lost a tight game with Washington College on Wednesday night as the Shorewomen scored the game-winner with 9:07 left to beat the Garnet 2-1.
Trailing 1-0 in the 52nd minute, Swarthmore (5-6, 1-4) tied it on a goal that senior forward
Kathleen Carmichael grounded toward the right side of the cage. It was her second goal of the season.
Swarthmore outshot the Shorewomen (3-8, 3-2) 13-2 in the first half but were outshot 8-2 in the second. The game was scoreless at halftime.

Zelda Bank played all 70 minutes for the Garnet and made seven saves. She is seven saves away from reaching 400 in her career.
Swarthmore travels to Bryn Mawr College for its next game at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
