GETTYSBURG, Pa.—No. 14 Swarthmore College Men's Swimming maintained its spotless Centennial Conference dual meet record this season with a narrow 135.5-126.5 win over the Gettysburg College Bullets on Saturday.
Swarthmore kept the Bullets at bay late by taking first, second, and fifth in the final individual event, the 200 IM. The Garnet led 117.5-108.5 going into that event and earned 14 points through freshman
Jeremy Rockaway's first-place finish (1:57.59), transfer
Greg Kalminskii's second-place finish (1:57.82) and
Jeffrey Mun's fifth-place (1:59.31).
Gettysburg took first in the first two events of the day, but Swarthmore got the gold in the 200 free as
Alec Menzer led the way with a swim of 1:43.12.
Jeffrey Tse claimed the top spot in the 100 back (50.61) for the first of his three individual wins on the day. He led the pack in the 200 back (1:54.33) and the Garnet took the top three spots in that heat. Tse also won the 100 fly in 49.94.
Senior
Chris Smith darted to first in the 100 breaststroke in 58.98. In the 200 breast, it was
Horace Shew who got to the finish line first (2:10.95).
Swarthmore returns to Ware Pool on Saturday to celebrate Senior Day. The Garnet host Dickinson College at 1 p.m.
