SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Swarthmore College Outdoor Track & Field junior
Clay Conley reached 13.41 meters to take second place in the shot put at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet on Monday.
Conley's previous season best was 13.36m. Conley was ranked 23rd in Division III before Monday's throw. The 13.41-meter throw moved Conley up to No. 21. Conley, a shot put All-American indoors in 2018, hopes to qualify for the DIII National Championships set to begin on May 23 in Geneva, Ohio.
Sophomore
Maya Zimmerman placed second in the javelin at the Last Chance Meet with a launch of 35.43m. She set Swarthmore's record earlier this season at 38.78m.
Sophomore
Lauren Holt took fifth place in the 400m dash in 57.77 seconds. She currently ranks 19th in Division III this season with a season-best 56.82-second finish.
Select Garnet athletes will have the opportunity to compete at the Widener Last Chance Meet on Thursday with the opportunity to move up the national ranks one more time. Again, the National Championships start on May 23 in Geneva, Ohio.
