HAVERFORD, Pa. - No. 4-seed Swarthmore College Softball led No. 1-seed Haverford 8-2 after four innings but ultimately lost 16-11 in a Centennial Conference Tournament elimination game on Saturday.
The Garnet (22-15) had their season come to a close just one win shy of tying the program record that was set in 2008 and 2006.

Gabriella Natoli each had career highs with four hits on Saturday.
Swarthmore as a team had a season-high 17 hits in the game. Haverford had 18.
The Garnet took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on RBI singles by Natoli and junior
Kalli Segel.
The Fords tied it in the top of the third, but Natoli doubled to score two in the bottom of the frame.
Swarthmore rallied for four runs in the fourth to take a comfortable lead. However, Haverford scored 14 total runs in the fifth and sixth innings.

Laura Hirai had two hits apiece for the Garnet.
Swarthmore's season comes to a close as the team made its first appearance in the Centennial Conference Playoffs since 2010.
