How It Happened…
  • First Quarter: Bridgewater led throughout the opening quarter following a three-pointer by Kayla Darr. The margin reached four at 17-13 following a three-pointer by Erin Dietz with 3:16 left. The Bullets tied the game twice before the end of the frame, but the Eagles ran off the final four points to take a 23-19 lead.
  • Second Quarter: McNamara shouldered the offensive load for the visitors early in the second quarter, accounting for each of her team's first 11 points. She gave the Bullets their first lead at 28-26 on a lay-up with 6:47 left before halftime. Gettysburg's defense held Bridgewater without a field goal for over three minutes, while the offense went on a 9-1 run that made it 37-29. The Bullets were unable to hold the advantage as Baum knocked down a three-pointer just before the break for a 41-40 lead for the hosts.
  • Third Quarter: Gehrin equaled Bridgewater's point total by herself in the third quarter. The senior turned in an old-fashioned three-point play early in the frame and keyed a 12-0 run with six more points as Gettysburg jumped ahead 58-46. The Eagles cut the margin in half by the end of the period.
  • Fourth Quarter: The lead continued to dissipate at the start of the final stanza. A three-pointer by Shifflett put Bridgewater back in front 65-64, but Gettysburg answered right away with a three-pointer by Rice. Each time the Eagles took the lead or tied the game, the Bullets came right back with a bucket. After a three-pointer by Dietz made it 73-72 in favor of the hosts, Cesareo  gave her team the lead for good with a three-ball to kick off a 13-1 run. The senior capped the run with another trey to make it 85-74 with 2:48 to go. The Bullets struggled form the line down the stretch, but the Eagles managed just one field goal inside the final 2:48.

By the Numbers
  • Gettysburg connected on 30-of-51 (58.8 percent) of its field goals. That's the team's best mark since hitting 64.8 percent of its shots against Dickinson College on Dec. 6, 2017. The Bullets also hit 9-of-18 three-point attempts. Bridgewater finished below 30 percent shooting from the field and from beyond the three-point arc.
  • Three days after tying her career high for points with 13, McNamara blew that mark out of the water in the game's first 20 minutes with 14 first-half points. She finished 9-of-13 from the field, 3-of-5 from three-point land, and 2-of-3 from the free throw line. The sophomore beat her previous rebounding high by three.
  • Gehrin picked up her second consecutive 20-point effort and her first career double-double. She posted 13 of the team's 20 points in the third quarter and finished 7-of-13 from the floor and 7-of-9 from the charity stripe.
  • Cesareo fell three rebounds and one assist shy of the program's first triple-double in over 26 years. Maureen Andrews '95 was the last Gettysburg basketball player to earn a triple-double and she did it twice during the 1992-93 season against York and Juniata.
