Johns Hopkins Takes Down Salisbury, 7-2

• The Short Story: The 21st-ranked Johns Hopkins men's tennis team got back in the win column with a 7-2 win over host Salisbury on Saturday in non-conference action.
 
How it Happened
• The Blue Jays jumped out to a 3-0 lead over the Sea Gulls by sweeping the doubles matches. Juniors Joe Cartledge and Austin Gu grabbed the first point of the match with an 8-5 win at first over Ian Siew and Colt Williamson.
• Seniors Colin Muraika and Scott Thygesen followed with an 8-7 (6) win over Alexander Angradi and Matthew Ryan at second. Junior Aaron Carey and sophomore Eric Yoo completed the doubles sweep when they beat Kelson Weber and Patrick MacLean, 8-7 (5), at third.
• Siew picked up a point for the Sea Gulls with a 6-3, 6-1 win over freshman Naevin Anukornchaikul at third singles. Gu then beat Williamson 6-2, 7-6 (3) at second to push Hopkins' lead to 4-1.
• Angradi cut the deficit in half as he beat Thygesen 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 at first. Cartledge then clinched the win for the Blue Jays with a 6-4, 6-3 win at fourth over Weber.
• Yoo then came from behind to beat Stefan Hein 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (6) at fifth. Carey closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at sixth over MacLean.
 
What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 13-7 all-time against Salisbury and has won 11 straight in the series.
 
Up Next
• Hopkins returns to action on Sunday, March 10 as the Blue Jays host Washington & Lee. The match is slated for a Noon start at the JHU Tennis Courts.
