CARLISLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Basketball team was defeated 71-66 on the road by Dickinson on Monday night in Centennial Conference action.

With the loss, the Bears fall to 12-10 overall and 9-7 in the Centennial Conference. Meanwhile, the Red Devils improved to 10-11 overall and 9-7 in conference play. With two conference games left in the regular season, the Bears, Red Devils, and Haverford are all knotted at 9-7 as the teams fight for the last few spots in the Centennial Conference tournament.

For the second-straight game it was sophomore Trevor Wall pacing the Bears offense as he recorded a game-high 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting and going a perfect 5-of-5 from three-point range. Senior Ryan Hughes added 18 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals while classmate Peyton Vostenak posted six points off the bench behind a pair of three-pointers.

Wall opened the game with the Bears first five points as they jumped out to an early 9-4 advantage at the 15:24-mark of the first half. Dickinson used a 9-2 run to go up 13-11 before Wall put Ursinus back in front at the 11:11-mark with a three-pointer. The Red Devils struck back quick and took their largest lead of the half at 23-18 with 7:41 left in the first half. Dickinson maintained its lead out to 27-22 at the 5:42-mark, but it was Ursinus that took momentum into halftime as they closed the first half out on an 11-1 run and went up 33-28.  The Bears held the Red Devils without a field goal for the final 5:42 of the first half.

Despite the strong finish from the Bears in the first half, the Red Devils got off to a fast start in the second half as they took the lead back at 38-36 following a 10-3 run in the first 2:49. Ursinus responded to take the lead back at 43-40 at the 14:48-mark as neither team was able to pull away from the other throughout the majority of the second half. The Bears seemed to begin to break free as they went up 54-49 at the 7:55-mark after scoring six-straight points. However, the Red Devils rattled off eight unanswered points to go back up 56-54 with 6:01 left in regulation. Wall put the Bears back in front at 57-56 with a layup with 4:34 left in the second half, but that turned out to be the last time Ursinus would hold a lead in the contest. Dickinson used a 10-4 run to take a 66-61 lead with 41 seconds left in regulation that was capped by a three-pointer. Ursinus made one last rally as they closed within two points at 67-65, but the Red Devils made their final four free throws to hold on for the win.

The Bears went 26-of-65 (40%) from the field and 7-of-21 (33.3%) from three-point range. Ursinus shot 63.6 percent (7-of-11) from the free throw line and scored 12 points off 13 Red Devil turnovers. Meanwhile, the Red Devils shot 44.8 percent (26-of-58) from the field and 26.7 percent (8-of-30) from three-point range. Dickinson shot 61.1 percent (11-of-18) from the free throw line and held a 43-34 rebounding advantage that led to a 10-6 edge in second chance points.
