The Muhlenberg men's basketball team trailed by just five at halftime, but a 54.3 percent second-half shooting effort from Ursinus led the Bears to an 83-55 win.
After trailing by as many as 15 in the first half, the Mules (8-10, 5-6) scored 9 of the final 11 points of the frame to head to halftime trailing, 36-31. Ursinus went on to convert 19 field goals in the second half, including 7 from three-point range to pull away.
Muhlenberg jumped out to an early lead with the first 6 points of the game and stayed in front until the 13:13 mark of the first half. The Bears then went on a 21-5 run over the next 6:35 to open its largest first half lead at 32-17 with 6:56 remaining until the break. Freshmen

Dan Gaines combined for three three-pointers to help the Mules cut the deficit to five at the break.
After trading buckets early in the second half, Ursinus opened its first double-digit lead of the half 3:50 in and went ahead by double figures for good with 9:29 remaining.
