COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Gettysburg College wrestling wrapped up its Centennial Conference dual schedule by splitting a pair of matches at Ursinus College Saturday. The Bullets fell to the host Bears 26-13 before beating Muhlenberg College 29-20.
Gettysburg (7-7, 2-5 CC) fell behind early against Ursinus (2-2, 7-3 CC) as the Bears won five of the first six matches to jump in front 20-3. Sophomore
Sean Thompson (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) put the Bullets on the board with a 9-2 decision over Kyle Seibert at 141 pounds.
The Orange and Blue closed the match by winning three of four bouts. Senior
Colin Kowalski (Derwood, Md./Georgetown Prep) shut out Gary Nagle on the way to a 12-0 major decision at 174 pounds. Kowalski came into the day ranked 10th in the nation.
Senior
Dan Ebert (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde) followed with a 10-6 win at 184, while classmate
Paul Triandafilou (Derwood, Md./Georgetown Prep), who came into the day ranked eighth in the country, won 6-1 at heavyweight.

Alex Shaffer (Doylestown, Pa./Archbishop Wood) posted a first-period pin (2:35) at 133 pounds. Thompson added another decision (7-4) at 141 to improve his season mark to 19-10.
Junior
Colin Devlin (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin) extended Gettysburg's lead to 13-6 with a major decision (14-4) at 149, but back-to-back wins by the Mules put the Bullets behind in the team scoring 15-13.
Kowalski came through with his team-leading 15th pin of the season at 174 pounds, putting Jimmy Fratantoni to the matt in 4:45. It was the senior's 30th victory of the season and extended his win streak to 17 matches. Ebert followed with his sixth pin of the year to run his season mark to 20-7.
Triandafilou closed the victory with a 12-2 major decision over Scott Schaeffer. The victory improved the heavyweight's record to 26-3 on the year and put him in a tie with Matt Shank '08 for second on the program's career wins list with 114.
A group of Bullets also competed at the Messiah College Open on Saturday. Junior
Traken Sutton (Wethersfield, Conn./Loomis Chaffee), freshman
