LANCASTER, Pa. - Led by a first-place finish from senior
Bailey Mullen, the McDaniel College women's cross country team captured the team title at the Charger Invite hosted by Lancaster Bible College on Friday.
The Green Terror placed four runners in the top-10 and six in the top-20 while totaling 21 points, 36 ahead of second-place Penn State-Berks.
Mullen completed the 6k course in a personal-best time of 24:45.4, over 1:41 faster than her previous best set at the 2021 Centennial Conference Cross Country Championships. It was also the fastest time by a McDaniel student-athlete on the Lancaster course.
Senior
Megan O'Neill also crossed the line with a new personal-best, finishing fifth with a time of 27:01.8 which was over four minutes faster than her time at last year's conference championship.
Competing in her first collegiate 6k, freshman
Piper Nagaraj posted her first top-10 finish, crossing the line in eighth with a time of 28:42.5, just ahead of senior
Ashley Siebenhaar who placed ninth in a time of 29:10.1. It was her first career top-10 finish.
Competing in their first 6k, freshmen
Anna Kale and
Arianna Lowengrub finished 12th and 17th, respectively with Kale completing the course in 29:36.7. Lowengrub posted a mark of 31:17.4.
Senior
Kate Guensler rounded out the team for McDaniel, placing 32nd in her first 6k.
The Green Terror return to action next Saturday, September 24th at the Hornet Harrier Invitational hosted by Shenandoah University.
