COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.  – The Haverford College men's lacrosse team registered its first victory of the season with an 11-5 win over Baldwin Wallace on Tuesday in the team's second and final game of the spring break trip. Ethan Donlon made his return to the starting lineup and matched his career high with 23 saves, stopping over 82% of the shots he faced.

The Fords' attack featured nine different goal scorers. Sean Mowatt-Larssen and Spencer Sapir each registered multiple goals for the Fords. Although the Fords had the overwhelming advantage, goalie play was strong for both sides as the Yellow Jackets stopped 14 of the Fords' 25 shots on goal.

Haverford got off to a quick start by scoring the game's first three goals and eventually outscored the Yellow Jackets in three of the four quarters (tying the second, 2-2). Brian Geffroy tallied the first goal of the game just under four minutes into the contest, while Ben Meyers and Mowatt-Larssen also recorded first quarter goals. Each of Haverford's first three goals were assisted.

Baldwin Wallace answered those early strikes with two straight goals before Gabe Moon and Ben Fujinaga got the Haverford attack restarted with unassisted tallies. Fujinaga also added an assist in the first quarter while Moon's goal was his first this season to help the Fords carry a 5-3 lead into the half.

The Fords put the game away in the third quarter with three unanswered goals by Gray Pollock, Sapir, and Mowatt-Larssen. Mowatt-Larssen continued his stretch of scoring multiple goals in each of the five contests he has appeared. While Haverford was increasing its lead on the attack, the Fords' defense did not allow a goal from the two-minute mark of the second quarter until there was 2:19 remaining in the fourth, a stretch of nearly 30 minutes. That lock down defense helped the Fords run their lead up to 11-3 with goals from Drew Hoffman, Peter Christians, and Sapir in the fourth. Sapir's two goals were the first tallies of his career.

Donlon made nine saves in the first quarter as the Fords were building that early advantage and had at least four saves during each period. The Fords' junior also caused two turnovers and picked up three ground balls in the victory. Colby Ferrigno also had two caused turnovers in the victory while Max Elliott and Anthony Vizzoni collected three ground balls to match Donlon's team leading totals.

After four straight contests away from Swan Field, the Fords return home this Saturday, March 14 for a 1 p.m. face-off with Susquehanna. That matchup will be the team's final non-conference tilt of the regular season before Centennial Conference action gets underway at McDaniel on Saturday, March 21.
