The Muhlenberg men's basketball team built a big early lead and went on to defeat Bryn Athyn, 76-59, in the opening round of the Scotty Wood Tournament.
The Mules are 5-0 for the first time in 35 years and will face Neumann, a 75-50 winner against Purchase, in the championship game.
Freshman
Justin Allen scored a game-high 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field. Junior
Michael Morreale added 12 points, with four coming on a pair of dunks, and sophomore
Nate Henty Brown finished with 10.
Muhlenberg led 8-5 a little more than three minutes into the game before going on a 22-3 run to build its advantage to 30-8.
The Mules shot 51.4 percent from the field in the first half, taking a 47-23 lead into the break, and led by as many as 28 points before the Lions (0-3) scored some late points.
Sophomore
Nicholas Chudy (pictured above) hit a three-pointer in the second half and assisted Morreale on his second dunk.
