Game One: Ursinus 16, Penn State Altoona 4

Penn State Altoona broke a scoreless tie to grab a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third, but the Bears (6-1) awoke to score 16 runs over the final four innings to deal the Lions a lopsided loss.

Alyssa Fisher (Lock Haven, PA/Central Mountain) started in the pitching circle and took the loss for Penn State Altoona after pitching five innings, striking out four batters, and yielding three earned runs. Madison Peters (Bellefonte, PA/Bald Eagle) pitched two innings in relief.

Cameryn Feathers (Martinsburg, PA/Central) was 2-for-4 with a run batted in, and Brooke Colledge (Everett, PA/Everett) went 1-for-4 with a triple, two RBI, and a run scored.

Penn State Altoona scored the game's first runs in the bottom of the third inning. Peters started the frame by reaching base on a throwing error, and Karli Storm (Chest Springs, PA/Cambria Heights) followed with a bunt single to put two runners aboard. After a fielder's choice, Colledge tripled to right to drive in two runs for the Lions. One batter later, Feathers' RBI single up the middle made it 3-0.

But Ursinus struck back with three runs in the next half inning, scoring three in the top of the fourth to tie the game. With two outs, Jordan Moore's RBI single to center put the Bears on the board, and Madison Wilson's two-run single to left knotted the score at 3-3.

Ursinus took the lead with a five-run fifth. Stephanie Wichman's RBI double to left put the Bears in front, and Megan Mills scored on an error to make it 5-3. Two batters later, Kayla Carr scored on a wild pitch to give her team a three-run advantage. Moore's sacrifice fly preceded another error that let Sarah DiLello score, putting Ursinus up 8-3.

Ursinus and Penn State Altoona traded runs in the sixth. In the top half of the inning, Carr's sac fly to right scored Wichman, and in the bottom half, Peters' sac fly to left plated Hanna Lauck (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte), who led off the inning with a single.

Ursinus went on to score seven runs in the seventh, as the Bears broke the game open for a 12-run victory.

Game Two: Immaculata 7, Penn State Altoona 5

A late rally by the Lions fell short, as Immaculata (1-0) was able to hang on for a two-run win over Penn State Altoona.

Feathers was 3-for-4 with a double and her first home run of the season to go along with two runs scored and two RBI. Fisher went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored, and Colledge was 1-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, a run scored, and a walk.

Peters started at pitcher and tossed a complete game in the loss. In seven innings, she yielded just two earned runs while striking out eight Immaculata hitters.

The Mighty Macs got three runs across in the top of the first inning to grab an early lead. Peyton McGowan's RBI single to right put Immaculata on the board, and Sara Rode's two-run single to left made it 3-0.

Penn State Altoona got a run back in the bottom half of the inning when Fisher started the frame with a base hit to left and scored on Colledge's RBI triple to left.

Immaculata boosted its lead back to three in the top of the second, when Bryele Anthony came home on a passed ball to make it 4-1.

Penn State Altoona lowered its deficit to one run in the bottom of the third. With one out, Fisher tripled to right-center, and Colledge drove her in with a groundout to second. After that, Feathers reached base on a single to left, then scored on Lauck's double to left, making it 4-3.

Immaculata created some breathing room by scoring a run in the top of the fourth, when Kaitlyn Carter's sacrifice brought Anthony home from third to make it 5-3. Carlee Karcher's two-run triple to right increased the Mighty Macs' lead to 7-3 in the sixth.

The Lions threatened to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh, scoring two runs and getting the potential tying runs into scoring position with one out. Colledge started the inning with a walk, and Feathers followed with a two-run blast to right-center to cut the Immaculata lead to 7-5. After a groundout accounted for the first out of the frame, Peters reached on an infield error, and Storm followed by reaching on an outfield error. The second error allowed both runners to move into scoring position, but Penn State Altoona was unable to come up with a hit in its final two at-bats, and the Lions took the close loss.
