• The Short Story: It was a historic day on the pitch for the eighth-ranked Johns Hopkins women's soccer team as the Blue Jays offense exploded for 12 goals as JHU shutout Bryn Mawr on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
• Riley O'Toole got the scoring started early as she scored 15 seconds into the game as she took a shot from the left side of the field and put the ball into the right side of the net. O'Toole scored her second goal of the game at 8:36 as she took a long pass from Kayla Blair and took another shot from the left side of the field and put the ball past Owls' goalkeeper, Carlie Hansen for the 2-0 lead.
• Carly Lupton-Smith sent a cross from the right side of the field to the center of the box where Emily Maheras put a header in the back of the net for her first goal of the season to give JHU a 3-0 lead at 12:20.
• Back-to-back goals from Michelle Santangelo gave Johns Hopkins a 5-0 advantage. Santangelo's first goal came off a corner kick as she put the Lupton-Smith pass into the right corner at 19:41. Goal two came off a pass from Kristen Hori from the far right side of the field into the center where Santangelo was waiting and converted the goal at 38:12.
• Rachel Jackson took a rebound off a save and headed the ball in for the goal at 39:46 and Hori scored her first goal of the year at 44:51 off a pass from Alexandra Damron who found the waiting Hori waiting on the left side of the box. The first half ended with Johns Hopkins leading 7-0.
• Paige Ackman assisted on the first two Blue Jay goals of the second half as she set up Mizuho Obayashi for the goal at 47:52 and Maggie Coulson for a goal at 54:46 to give the Blue Jays a 9-0 advantage. Coulson then set Obayashi up for her second goal of the game at 56:49 as Coulson found Obayashi who lifted the shot over the head of the goalkeeper to put JHU up ten.
• Arianna Konstantopoulos took advantage of a Bryn Mawr turnover in the box as she got control of the ball and put the shot inside the left post for the goal at 68:49 to put Johns Hopkins up 11-0.
• Samantha Hoffman wrapped up the scoring with her goal at 86:51 as she took the Ava Scatoni pass and found the back of the net as Hopkins claimed the 12-0 win.

What it Means
• JHU improves to 24-1 all-time against the Owls as Hopkins has won the last 24 meetings.
• The Blue have not allowed a goal to Bryn Mawr since 2013.
• The 12 goals are the most in a game for JHU. The previous high was nine which the Blue Jays accomplished on five different occasions.
• Hopkins scored seven first half goals, which tied the record for most goals scored in a half. The last time JHU scored seven goals in a half was on October 4, 2006, when Johns Hopkins scored seven times in the first half against Washington College.  

Inside the Box Score
• Obayashi, Hoffman and Konstantopoulos' goals were all the first in their collegiate careers while Blair and Scatoni notched her first collegiate point.
• JHU took 37 shots in the game with 22 on net. The Hopkins defense did not allow a shot from the Owls.
• The Blue Jays held a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks in the match.
• Caitlin Hendricks earned her third victory in net.
