HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's basketball team (4-9, 2-4 CC) posted a cathartic 76-48 victory over visiting McDaniel (5-6, 2-4 CC) on Tuesday inside Gooding '84 Arena, snapping a four-game losing streak behind 11 three-pointers and a dominating 36-25 edge on the glass.

Jackson Ryan (15 points) paced three Haverford players in double figures, with Harry Johnson adding 12 points on the bench while Charlie Mamlin poured in a trio of three-pointers in an 11-point, four-rebound performance. Haverford was strong again from the perimeter, shooting 47.8 percent from beyond the arc and 55.1 percent overall from the field while holding the Green Terror to just 32 percent from the field and 5-of-14 from beyond the arc.

The two sides were deadlocked in the early goings, with back-to-back buckets from Nate Torres and Ryan giving the Fords a three-point cushion at 12-9 with 14:40 remaining in the first period. McDaniel rallied back to knot things at 12, but a quick 7-0 run for the Fords was punctuated by a triple from Josh Love with 7:57 remaining. The lead hovered around five points with the Green Terror still in striking distance, but Ryan again drove to the cup for a layup to put the Fords up 21-16 with 6:10 to play. The layup kickstarted a 10-0 run as suddenly Haverford found itself up by 13 at 29-16 with 2:38 remaining in the stanza.

Ryan and Nicholas Stewart each connected on threes in the final 90 seconds of action to send Haverford into the intermission in control at 37-21. With 16:31 left in the second frame, Ryan again connected from downtown, this time putting the Fords up by 20 points for the first time in the contest at 47-27.

After Dhruv Mehrotra connected from deep and Harry Johnson converted a layup, Haverford was in full command following back-to-back triples from Mamlin, as the Ohio product converted twice in the span of less than a minute to put Haverford up by 29 at 63-34, the largest lead of the contest. The triple capped a game-best 11-0 run for the Fords.

From that point, McDaniel chipped away slightly, using a 9-0 run to get back within 20 points, but the Fords then answered with a 9-3 spurt to put things away for good as Brandon Banadda converted a layup to put Haverford up 72-46 with just over three minutes remaining.

Although turnovers were even at 13-13, the Fords did well to make the Green Terror live to regret its miscues, with 20 points off turnovers. Haverford again showcased its depth with 31 bench points, and excelled from the free-throw line, shooting 11-for-12 from the charity stripe. The dominating 36-25 edge on the glass set the tone for the Fords in a contest that saw Haverford largely in control down the stretch.

Charles Contee (14 points, five rebounds) and Jeong Hwang (12 points) helped keep the Green Terror in the contest in the second half, but Haverford showcased its firepower with reserves Stewart (8 points) and Johnson (12 points) helping to set the tone. Torres collected six assists and added a pair of steals while Ryan Trotter went for nine points and added three steals in a well-rounded effort.

The Fords now return to action on Thursday, heading back out on the road to take on the Bears of Ursinus in Centennial Conference action. The contest is slated to begin at 8 p.m. as the second game of a doubleheader with the women's team.
