GETTYSBURG, Pa. - For the second straight year the Dickinson men's track and field team braved the wind, rain and cold weather to secure the Little Three Championship after besting local foes Franklin & Marshall and Gettysburg on Saturday morning at Shirk Stadium.
Sprints
The Red Devil quartet of
William O'Connor (11.84),
Ben Power (11.99),
Matthew Greenley (12.12) and
Jack Corkum (12.63) held down spots five through eight in the 100m.
Dickinson took two podium slots for the 110m hurdles as
Liam Coulter grabbed second with a 17.86, while
Charlie Miske seized third (18.57).
Cole Boback earned second during the 200m by clocking in at 23.37. The trio of Power (24.23),
Ian Gormley (24.37) and O'Connor had a good race as well taking fourth through sixth. Corkum stayed inside the Top-10 (9th - 25.79).
The Red and White bookended the Top-3 of the 400m as Boback led the way with a 50.59, while Gormley took third at 52.95.
James Masterson (54.20) and
Luke Sternick (54.88) grabbed sixth and seventh respectively.
A pair of Devils locked down Top-5 slots for the 400m hurdles with Masterson taking fourth (1:03.85) and Coulter (1:04.21) a spot behind him.
Nolan Meincke claimed seventh at 1:10.29.
Distance
Dickinson went "one-two" during the 800m as
Trevor Richwine paced the pack with a 1:59.59, while
Benjamin Moseman clocked in at 2:04.17 for second. The group of
Ethan Katz (2:10.22),
Matthew Gareau (2:12.18),
Matthew Foote (2:13.20) and
Shane Coll (2:14.64) claimed placed seven through ten.
The Red and White claimed all three podium spots for the 1500m as
Teddy Mercer won the event with a time of 4:15.51, followed by Meincke (4:16.31) and Moseman (4:19.41). The next trio of DC runners came in within two seconds of each other with
Romario Cruz (4:20.42),
Alexander Kane (4:20.62) and
Matthew Dietrick (4:22.32) finishing fifth through seventh.
Kane claimed another distance win for DC during the 5000m by hitting the line in 15:25.22, while Cruz seized third at 15:38.02.
Michael Loalbo rounded out the Top-5 with a 15:39.41.
Specialty
William Tripp was the best Devil in the 3000m steeplechase taking second in 10:15.16, followed in third by
Coltin Albitz (10:24.15).
Field
Four DC athletes were Top-10 for the hammer with
Matthew Harvey taking the final podium slot after a 42.56m. He was joined in the Top-5 by
Ethan Hart at 38.06. The duo of Grant Deshishku and Lamar Ludy took seventh (35.99m) and tenth (24.27m) respectively.
Hart earned the victory in the shot put after a heave of 15.27m, while Harvey landed in third (12.61m). Hart then picked up his second win during the discus with a toss of 42.81m.
The group of
Hunter Omerzo (39.39m),
AJ Jennings (39.20m) and
Sa'id Rahim (33.17m) took part in the javelin.
Kieran Santos completed the podium for the long jump with a 5.48m, followed in fourth by Miske at 5.45m. The same two men went two (1.72m) and four (1.67m) during the hight jump.
Jacob Choudhri did battle in the triple jump claiming second at 11.29m.
Miske also earned a third-place result for the pole vault at 3.20m, while Power landed in fifth (2.45m).
Team Scores
Dickinson won the team title with 154.5 points, followed by Franklin & Marshall (138) and Gettysburg (118.5).
In the Starting Block
The Red and White return to action next Saturday (4/1) when they head to Allentown for the Muhlenberg College Invitational at 10 am.
