CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Gettysburg College men's golf team finished third out of eight teams at the Moravian College Weyhill Classic at the Saucon Valley Country Club Monday afternoon.
Gettysburg carded 316 as a team to finish one stroke shy of Penn State Berks for runner-up. McDaniel College took the top spot with a score of 302.
Leading the Bullets for the second consecutive event was senior
Dane Sethre-Hofstad (Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead), who posted a two-over 74 on the par-72, 6,537-yard course. Sethre-Hofstad dominated the final six holes of the course, carding three birdies and three pars. He finished three strokes back of leader Collin MacDonald from McDaniel College.
Making his collegiate debut, freshman
Hayden Moffat (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) finished seventh with a four-over 76. Moffat birdied a pair of par-3s – the 162-yard second hole and the 176-yard 14th. He added 10 pars on the day.
Senior
Danny Harcourt (Fanwood, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep) recorded the team's next best score with an 80 to finish tied for 12th. Sophomores
Daniel Rieger (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) and
Quinn Greene (New Milford, Conn./Canterbury School) rounded out the lineup with 86 and 87 to finish 29th and tied for 30th, respectively.
Gettysburg hosts an invitational at the Hanover Country Club in Abbottstown, Pa., next Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 12:30.
