HAVERFORD, Pa. – Swarthmore College Volleyball dropped the season finale in four sets to Haverford College on Saturday.  

The four set match saw scores of 15-25, 25-14, 13-25 and 25-27.  Swarthmore fell to 15-11 and 6-4 in Centennial action, while Haverford improved to 22-8 overall and 7-3 in league play.

Swarthmore stole the second set an early back and forth exchange of points. With the match tied at seven points each, tallied 12 straight points. After Haverford took a timeout with an 11-7 Swarthmore lead, Alexa Bartlett rallied for her second kill of the match. Alyssa Nathan notched two kills and a block assist during that stretch.

Senior Mehra den Braven notched three kills in the final four points of the second set for Swarthmore.

Nathan finished the match with eight kills for a .261%, including 16 digs, three block assist and one assist. Emma Morgan-Bennett led the Garnet with 12 kills, while the senior added two digs, and two block assist. Sierra Tyson recorded 23 assist, eight digs, four kills, a block assist and one service ace.

Barlett finished with five kills, two digs, one service ace and a solo block, while den Braven notched six kills and four digs.

In the upcoming conference tournament, Swarthmore will be the fifth seed, while Haverford will be the fourth seed.

The Garnet and Fords will meet again on Wednesday at Haverford in the first round of the Centennial Conference Tournament. The match is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
