LANCASTER, Pa. — Swarthmore College Volleyball's season came to an end on Saturday after a 3-0 loss to Johns Hopkins University in the Centennial Conference semifinals.
The No. 3-seeded Garnet (14-10, 7-3) lost the sets 25-19, 25-11, 25-12. No. 2-seed Hopkins advances to face No. 4-seed McDaniel College in the championship on Sunday.
Garnet senior libero Sarah Girard had a team-high 12 digs. She finishes her career with 1,990 digs, 406 more than the next highest total in Swarthmore volleyball history.
Junior middle blockers Emma Morgan-Bennett and Isabelle Andrews led Swarthmore with four kills each.
The 3-0 loss to the Blue Jays was Swarthmore's only 3-0 loss of the season. Of Swarthmore's 14 wins this season, 12 of them were 3-0.
The Garnet will return to the court in 2019 with the hope of appearing in their sixth straight conference tournament.
