Shorewomen Place Third at Arena Yellow Jacket Invitational

Iampieri Now in the Program’s All-Time Top 10 in Three Different Categories

RICHMOND, Va. – The Washington College women's swim team placed third out of eight teams at the Arena Yellow Jacket Invitational, hosted by Randolph-Macon, on Saturday and Sunday at the Collegiate School Aquatic Center.  Sophomore Emily Iampieri (Forest Hill, Md./North Harford) is now in the Shorewomen's Top 10 in all-time in three different events.

Shorewomen Individual Highlights
- Iampieri won the 100-yard freestyle (53.26) and was second in the 50 freestyle (24.85) and 200 freestyle (1:56.96).  The sophomore is now fourth all-time in program history in the 100 freestyle and seventh all-time in the 50 and 200 freestyles.
- Lilly Hartmann placed third in the 200 backstroke (2:14.18), fourth in the 400 individual medley (4:49.39), fifth in the 200 individual medley (2:15.47).  Hartmann is now 10th all-time in team history in the 400 IM.
- Lauren Paules finished second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:19.14.
- Ayana Davis was fourth in the 100 butterfly (1:00.49) and improved her ninth all-time mark in program history by two-tenths of a second. 
- Kylee Smith was fifth in the 200 butterfly (2:14.15), while tying her fifth all-time time in team history in the preliminaries (2:11.58).
- In the 500 freestyle, Kristina Curley placed third in the 500 freestyle (5:19.33), while Emma Schultz was fifth (5:21.29).
- Alex May earned a fifth place spot in the 400 IM (4:51.68).
- Anna Miller was tied for fifth in the 50 freestyle (25.23).

Shorewomen Relay Highlights
- In the 400-yard freestyle relay, the team of Iamiperi, Schultz, Smith and Kennedy Jones won the relay in 3:37.39.
- The foursome of Smith, Schultz, Paules and Iampieri captured the 800-freestyle relay with a time of 7:57:54.  Smith became the WC's eighth fastest swimmer in program history in the 200 freestyle (1:58.27).

Notes
- Catholic won the event with 1,555.5 points followed by host Randolph-Macon who notched 1,427 points.  Third place was Washington who had 1,261.5 points and Frostburg St. placed fourth with 1193.5 points.  Five through eight respectively were Stevenson (628.5 points), Virginia Wesleyan (624), St. Mary's (Md.) (597) and Sweet Briar (226).
- Frostburg St. is a Division II school, while the rest are Division III institutions.
