Game Notes

The Franklin & Marshall baseball team (23-13, 10-4 CC) wraps up the regular season against two Centennial Conference (CC) opponents. The Diplomats host Dickinson (21-12-1, 9-4 CC) on Tuesday before hitting the road to play the Red Devils Friday. Both games start at 3:30 p.m. F&M then hosts No. 1 Johns Hopkins (32-3, 13-1 CC) Saturday at noon. 

Last Week

Franklin & Marshall won swept Washington College in its home-and-home series with the Shoremen. F&M beat WAC 13-5 on Tuesday before overpowering Washington College, 24-16, in Friday's slugfest at Clipper Magazine Stadium. In the 24-16 win, Spencer Berson led the Diplomats with three hits, followed by Drew Butera, AJ Desautels, Andrew Filippelli, and Evan Varga each tallying two. Butera, Filippelli, and Jakob Hoffman drove in a game-high five RBI each in the victory. Hoffman also tied the F&M career home run record at 14 with a go-ahead grand slam in the sixth inning. Franklin & Marshall split its doubleheader with Haverford on Saturday. In the 13-6 win, Butera led the Diplomats with three hits, followed by Pat Elliott and Hoffman each recording two. Berson and Filippelli each recorded a game-high four RBI in the contest, with Filippelli driving in all four of his RBI on a grand slam in the seventh inning. Read the full recap here

Dickinson Team Preview

Dickinson enters Tuesday's matchup on a three-game winning streak. The Red Devil's were leading their second game against Ursinus Saturday, 4-0, before the contest was suspended in the fourth inning due to rain. Infielder Kaden Sigmon leads DC batting .367 with 11 doubles and three triples this season. Pitcher Grayson Walker has an ERA of 3.80 with 57 strikeouts in 42.2 innings this spring.

No. 1 JHU is on a nine-game winning streak and faces Gettysburg twice before facing F&M on Saturday. Outfielder Matthew Cooper is having a monster season, leading the conference in batting average (.508), home runs (18), slugging percentage (1.085), and RBI (48). Pitcher Matt Savedoff leads JHU in strikeouts with 49 in 40 innings of work. Gabriel Romano holds an ERA of 1.98 with 36 strikeouts in 50 innings on the mound.
