Devils Take Second at Wilson College Invite (Update 9/26)

Day Two

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's team had a tough second day at the Greencastle Golf Club as the Red and White fired a 308 to post a two-day total of 600 good for a second-place finish at the Wilson College Invite.

After carding a 70 yesterday to be in a tie for the tournament lead Will Giguere came in with a 78 to finish in a tie for fifth with his teammate Collin McMahon-Shea who shot consecutive 74s. Peter Lown was the lowest scoring Devil over the two days coming in with 71 and 76 (147) respectively. Brandon Wilson closed out the event with a 80 for a two-day total of 157, while Luke Vance went 83, 84 for a 167. 

Carl Williams added a 78 to his 77 for 155 good for fourteenth. Jack Poitras finished out the competing Devils by carding an 87 on day two. 

Centennial Conference rival Franklin & Marshall won the team title with 582 (292,290), followed by Dickinson (600), Goucher (628), Catholic (633), Penn College (634), Marymount (676), Wilson (828). Hood had a team at the tournament, but did not have enough to complete the team score for day two. Jas Fuhrer of the Diplomats carded a two-day total of 142 thanks to a 70 and 72.

Next on the Tee
Dickinson returns to action on Saturday for the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Invitational at the Waynesboro Country Club in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                
Day One    

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's golf team continued their strong start to their fall season by shooting a combined 292 to sit tied for first at the Wilson College Invitational at Greencastle Golf Club.

Will Giguere led the Red and White on the day by shooting a two-under 70 on the 6,905-yard par 72 course to be tied for the individual lead with Jas Fuhrer from Franklin & Marshall. Just one shot back is Peter Lown after carding a one-under 71. Collin McMahon-Shea had a solid afternoon firing a 74 to tie for sixth, while Brandon Wilson came in at 77. Luke Vance rounded out the Devils competing for the "team" score at 83. 

Carl Williams and Jack Poitras played as "individuals" shooting 77 and 78 respectively.

In the team standings the Devils sit tied with Franklin & Marshall on 292, followed Goucher (301), Catholic (307), Penn College (314), Hood (333), Marymount (334), and the host Wilson (423).
