• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins men's track & team leaped into the top spot in the standings on day two of the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Johns Hopkins Winners:
• Mitchell Porter notched victories in the 110-meter hurdles (17.03) and the javelin (41.38m) in the heptathlon.

Justin Canedy took home first in the long jump with a leap of 7.13m and also grabbed the top spot in the high jump with a mark of 2.05m. Both marks currently rank in the top-20 in the nation and set new freshmen records.
Other Meet Highlights:
• Porter registered a fourth-place finish in the discus in the heptathlon with a throw of 21.90m and finished third in the pole vault as he cleared 3.30m for 431 points. In the 1,500-meter run he clocked in with a time of 5:13.14 to finish in third for 486 points. Overall in the event, he finished second with 5,299 points.

Matthew Su notched a third-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.97m while
Andrew King grabbed fourth in the steeplechase with a time of 10:09.51.
• Porter added 5.5 points in the high jump with a mark of 1.90m while the Blue Jay 4x800-meter relay team finished in fourth with a time of 7:54.60 to give the Blue Jays five points.

• Hopkins will be in search of its sixth consecutive Centennial Conference Championship when day three action begins tomorrow, Sunday, May 5 beginning at 11 am.
