GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College men's cross country team ran spectacular as they placed third out of 28 teams at the 31st annual Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday afternoon in picture perfect weather conditions.

The Finish Line
- Sheldon cruised through the 8,000-meter course in 26:08, which was over two minutes faster than last year at the home invite, to register sixth place out of a field of 236.
- McKeever also improved his time from last year's home invite as well, clocking 26:22.4 to notch ninth overall.
- Freshman Connor Elliott (Media, Pa./Salesianum) was the No. 3 runner for the Bullets as he crossed the finish line in 27:18.3 to register 29th.
- Following right behind was senior Aren Heitmann (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe), who placed 30th with a 27:23.7 time.
- Freshman Joseph Potz (Crestline, Calif./Rim of the World) rounded out the scoring as he finished 45th with a 27:59.5 time.
- Finishing as displacers were sophomore Charles Norelli (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus), who came in 49th (28:03.5), and sophomore Patrick Neighbour (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional), who took 54th (28:06.7).
Gettysburg Invitational History
- The Gettysburg Invitational is one of the largest collegiate cross country meets in the region. Ben Taber '17 became the first Bullet in the history of the invitational to win the men's race, which he accomplished in 2016.
- The last time the Bullets placed third as a team at the home invite was back in 2009 when they also finished third.
- Today's race included Division I, II, and III schools from six different states. The Bullets were the second among DIII teams.
