THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg placed four runners in the top 12 and four of the first five Division III runners to finish second at the 12th Annual Galen Piper Cross Country Challenge hosted by Shippensburg. The Bullets finished with 41 points.
THE LEADERS
•
Amy Cantrell (Hailey, Idaho/Wood River) led the Bullets with a seventh-place finish, completing the 4,000-meter course in a time of 15:44.6. She bettered her previous 4K personal best by nearly a full minute.
•
Ava Crawford (Swarthmore, Pa./Strath Haven) made her Gettysburg debut with an eighth-place finish, crossing in a time of 15:46.0.
FOR THE FOES
• Shippensburg won the seven-team invitational with 30 points.
THE REST OF THE STORY

Amanda Addesso (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire) placed 11th with a time of 16:02.9.
•
Carys Cook (Fairfield, Conn./Laurelton Hall) posted a time of 16.08.6 to finish 12th in her first intercollegiate race.
•
Eliza Hoover (Mahwah, N.J./Academy of the Holy Angels) also made her debut for Gettysburg, crossing 19th in a time of 16:21.4.
•
Abbey Woodcome (Hudson, Mass./Hudson) was 28th overall (16:53.1) while
Sarah Smith (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) crossed 29th (16:55.2).
• Sophomores
Emily Trout (Ocean View, Del./Sussex Academy) and
Franny Proto (Old Tappen, N.J./Northern Valley Regional at Old Tappen) were 30th (16:55.7) and 33rd (16:56.7), respectively.

Rachel Fischler (47th, 17:30.4),
May Berger (51st, 17:51.9) and
Emma Bernstein (55th, 18:12.5) rounded out the Bullet runners.
THE INSIDE STORY
• A total of 78 runners competed at the 4,000-meter distance.
• Five of the Bullets' top seven runners were making their Gettysburg debut.
