Muhlenberg freshman
Caroline Maglaras finished an impressive 3-0 opening weekend of collegiate tennis by winning No. 1 singles matches against Moravian and DeSales.
The Mules lost both contests, 7-2, to strong programs. Moravian won the Landmark Conference championships and an NCAA first-round match last year, while DeSales reached the Freedom Conference final.
In the morning match, Maglaras teamed up with sophomore
Maria Stere for an 8-3 No. 2 doubles win against two Greyhound players who earned first-team All-Landmark Conference honors last year.
Maglaras proceeded to win 6-3, 6-4 in a hard-fought No. 1 singles match on an unseasonably hot day.
In the DeSales match, Maglaras won the first set 6-1 before her opponent retired due to injury. Sophomore
Carly Lodise picked up Muhlenberg's other win at No. 4 when her opponent retired.
