DOYLESTOWN, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Lacrosse gathered its fourth consecutive win to open the 2019 campaign, plowing past the Delaware Valley University Aggies 12-4 in a frigid game on Wednesday night.

Swarthmore scored its first two goals within five seconds of each other, setting the tone early. Jake Ross, off an assist by freshman Will Vespole, put Swarthmore on the board with 8:01 left in the first quarter and then five seconds later capitalized on an extra man opportunity with a goal by Ryan Mulvey to go ahead 2-0.

Vespole posted his second assist, finding Dylan Rittenhouse for the tally with 4:44 left in the first.

Del Val scored just seconds later and the two teams traded a pair of goals. The Aggies cut into Swarthmore's lead with another goal with 8:52 to play in the second, making it 5-3 Swarthmore, but the Aggies wouldn't score another goal until eight seconds remained in the fourth quarter.

During Del Val's 39-minute scoring drought, the Garnet scored seven straight times to lock up the win.

Ross and Dylan Rittenhouse led Swarthmore with three goals each. Mulvey finished with a pair, and Vespole, Zander Levitz, Kieran McKenna and Alec Ferry all scored a goal as well.

Frankie Dillon made eight saves in the victory.

Swarthmore returns to action on March 13 at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.
