WESTMINSTER, Md.—Swarthmore College Women's Swimming cruised to a 69-25 win over McDaniel College to begin the 2019-20 season on Saturday.
The Garnet finished in first in all but three events and were dominant in both relays. Swarthmore opened with a 1:54.41 time to win the 200 medley relay and closed the meet with a sweep of the 200-yard freestyle relay. Swarthmore's top team took that relay in 1:43.06.
Sophia Lee took the 400 IM in 4:45.68, a personal best.
Hannah Kloetzer swam to first in the 200 free with a time of 2:03.32.
Freshman
Annabella Boardman blew away the competition in the 100 breaststroke, with a time of 1:07.82, finishing virtually five seconds in front of the runner-up. Fellow first-year
Alyssa Berman notched a win in the 100 fly, clocking in at 1:00.18.
The 500 free belonged to rookie Olivia Stoetzer who took the heat in 5:34.08.
Sophomore
Anna Lyn led the way to a Swarthmore sweep of the 100 IM with a time of 1:01.81.
The Garnet are back in action on Friday and will face Bryn Mawr College and Franklin & Marshall College.
