How It Happened…
  • First Quarter: Three points by Gehrin and a pair by Brown pushed Gettysburg to an early 5-0 lead, but four quick points by Johns Hopkins leading scorer Diarra Oden and a lay-up by Lyndsey Hoyd put the hosts ahead by one. A lay-up by senior Kiera Cesareo (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) helped the Bullets retake the lead, which was held for roughly the next three minutes until Johns Hopkins sank a pair of free throws for the 10-9 edge. Despite holding the Blue Jays to 20 percent (3-of-15) shooting in the defensive battle, the Bullets were down 12-9 at the end of the period.
  • Second Quarter: The Blue Jays rolled out to an eight-point lead with a trey by Emily Howie to make it 23-15 with 7:56 showing. After that, the Orange and Blue went to work on the offesnive end as they rolled out a 12-2 spurt. Another three-pointer by Howie pushed the Blue Jays lead to one with 1:29 to go. Richson closed out the first half by netting five straight points in the last 24 seconds to push the Bullets to a 32-28 advantage at intermission. Both teams were blazing through the nets at the free throw line as the Blue Jays went a perfect 8-of-8 and the Bullets hit 10-of-11 in the first half. Gettysburg's defense also held Johns Hopkins to 26.7 percent (8-of-30) from the field in the opening half.
  • Third Quarter: Gettysburg never trailed again as a jumper by Brown helped propel an 8-0 run to open the second half. The Bullets' defense did outstanding as they held the Blue Jays scoreless until the 3:51 marker and allowed only six points in the period. Brown finished with six of her game-high 14 points.
  • Fourth Quarter: Johns Hopkins could not get its offense going in the second half and fell behind by 18 points (53-35) as the Bullets tallied eight of the first ten points of the period with Gehrin scoring seven. The Bullets lead would grow to as many as 22 down the stretch to notch the dominating 22-point victory.
By the Numbers
  • Gettysburg connected on 23-of-48 (47.9 percent) from the field and 18-of-23 (78.3 percent) from the charity stripe, which was the best shooting performance from the free throw line.
  • The Bullets won the battle of the boards 44-28.
  • The Blue Jays finished with a season-low 24.1 percent (14-of-58) from the floor and hit 14-of-16 (87.5 percent) from the free throw line.
  • Gehrin's 20-point effort was her third 20 plus point performance of the season. She now needs 31 more points to achieve the 1,000-point milestone.
  • Brown compiled her first double-double of the season and third of her career.
  • Hahner pulled down a season-high 13 boards.
  • Gettysburg scored 18 points off turnovers while the bench netted 19.
Where the Series Stands Now
Johns Hopkins holds the slight 40-37 advantage in the all-time series. The Bullets have held the upper-hand of late with eight wins in the last 10 meetings, including the previous seven.
