The Muhlenberg field hockey team (4-2, 0-2) lost a hard-fought battle at nationally ranked No. 9, Franklin & Marshall (6-0, 1-0), falling 3-0.
The Diplomats had only a 1-0 lead going into halftime despite taking 22 of their 30 total shots of the game in those first two quarters. F&M scored two more goals in the third quarter.
The highly contested Mules defense was highlighted by defensive saves from juniors
Morgan Tietz and
Sophie Beeler. For Beeler it was her 11th career defensive save, the eighth-most in Muhlenberg history.
