CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's swimming team picked up six race wins on the day en route to a pair of comfortable wins in their Home Opener on Saturday afternoon as the Red and White knocked off Wilkes University 88-18 and Lebanon Valley College 85-72 at the Clarke Aquatic Center.
The Devils dominated the first event of the day the 200-yard medley relay as the Red and White finished first through third. The unit of
Olivia Abbott-Havers, Bella Gerkin, Isabel McGovern, and
Norah Wilson won the race with a time of 1:56.21. Four seconds behind them came the team of
Margot Armstrong,
Julia Ciesielka,
Sarah McHenry, and
Sarah Mulcahy (2:00.49). The final DC group consisted of Sydney Farling, Isobell O'Connell, Annelyse Warner, and
Margie Winter as they finished in 2:03.06.
Dickinson filled up the podium during the 200-yard freestyle with Emma Johnston winning the race in 2:02.04. She barely edged out her teammate Tori May and her 2:02.33.
Carrington Bowles rounded out the trio at 2:14.30.
Caroline Wasielevski was too much for the 14-swimmer field in the 50-yard freestyle as she posted a time of 25.76 to hold off Jordyn Grossman from LVC at 26.75. O'Connell finished in third (26.90), followed by Winter (27.82).
Cate Lord also competed in the event taking seventh by hitting the wall in 29.70.
The Red and White occupied places one through four during the 100-yard butterfly with McGovern winning the race in 1:00.09. Three seconds back of her was Armstrong and her 1:03.75, followed by Mulcahy (1:04.19), and Gerkin (1:08.90).
Wasielevski grabbed her second victory of the day in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.56 to edge out Johnston by a second (57.53). Warner claimed fourth by stopping the clock in 1:02.22.
May showed off some strong distance skill by winning the 500-yard freestyle by stopping the clock in 5:23.23 as she bested her next closest competitor Colleen Caribardi from LVC by over a minute (6:40.00).

Dickinson (5-1, 2-1 Centennial) faces a stiff test next Saturday when they welcome rival Franklin & Marshall College to the Clarke Aquatic Center for a 1pm start.
