SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Swarthmore College Volleyball earned a sweep over visiting Bryn Mawr College on Wednesday night at Tarble Pavilion.
The Garnet won in three sets 25-7, 25-9, and 25-11. Swarthmore improved to 12-8 on the season and 3-2 in Centennial action.
Bryn Mawr opened the scoring in the first set before the Garnet answered for 12 straight points.
Alexa Barlett gave Swarthmore the 5-1 edge with a kill from
Sierra Tyson.
Mehra den Braven netted a service ace during the streak for Swarthmore.
Swarthmore and Bryn Mawr exchanged points for the first six points of the third set, but the Garnet went on a streak as they scored nine unanswered points.
Natalia Drobjnak recorded two service ace as the Garnet took a 12-3 lead.
Sherry Wang notched her first career kill to close out the match for the Garnet. Tyson led the Garnet with 20 assist, 13 digs and eight kills on 11 attacks.
Barlett ended the match with eight kills, three digs, three block assist and one assist. Drobjnak finished the match with seven digs, five assist, three kills and three service aces. Den Braven recorded eight kills, five assist, and three digs in the sweep.
Isabelle Andrews and
Josie Thrasher each tallied a solo block. As a team, Swarthmore recorded eight blocks.
Swarthmore returns to the court on Saturday as they challenge #9 Johns Hopkins at 12:00 PM and #25 Susquehanna at 2:00 PM in Baltimore, Md.
