How It Happened…
  • First Quarter: Gettysburg dominated action early on with five penalty corners in the first 15 minutes. The opening shot on goal by freshman Jenna Vadinsky (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) was stopped by Zapcic in the fourth minute. The Bullets scored on a penalty corner late in the period with Soares dumping the ball off to Bertrando for a high shot over the goalie.
  • Second Quarter: Zapcic posted two saves on potential Gettysburg goals to keep the one-goal margin going into halftime.
  • Third Quarter: Washington survived a persistent Gettysburg attack in the third quarter and managed to tie the game. The Bullets led in shots (10-1) and penalty corners (7-1), but the Shorewomen tied the game following a corner as Steele dropped it off to Willey for the score in the 35th minute.
  • Fourth Quarter: Caputo posted her only save in the game on a shot by Kailyn Brandt in the 50th minute. Despite four shots on goal by the Bullets, the game went to overtime as Zapcic totaled four saves.
  • Overtime: Gettysburg dominated the extra session with three quick shots on goal in the first 3:29. After earning the third penalty corner of the frame, the Bullets ended the game as Soares fed the pass to Bertrando for the goal.
