• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins baseball team concluded the regular season with a 7-3 defeat at Swarthmore on Monday afternoon. Hopkins had secured the top-seed in the conference tournament on Saturday, while the Garnet, who last season defeated the Blue Jays in the conference finals, were eliminated as Muhlenberg defeated Dickinson to secure the fourth-seed in the tournament.

How it Happened
• The Blue Jays got on the board first as Nate Davis hit a two-run homer to left with two outs to give Hopkins the 2-0 lead.
• Swarthmore tied the game in the second on RBI singles by Holden Bridge and Sam Jacobson. Jack Bunting came on with one out and runners on the corners and promptly struck out Cole Beeker and Jackson Roberts to end the inning.
• The Garnet took the lead in the fourth as they scored four times to take a 6-2 lead. In the seventh, the Garnet had runners on second and third with one out, but Preston Betz got Charles Levitt swinging and got Beeker to ground out to end the frame.
• The score remained 6-2 until the eighth when Chris Festa cut the Garnet lead in half with a solo shot to left to make it a 6-3 game. Swarthmore responded in the bottom of the inning as Roberts took a pitch over the wall to put the home team up 7-3.
• Adam Kohl singled to left with one out in the top of the ninth and Mike Eberle singled to left-center with two outs to put runners on first and second, but Corkery got the final out to give the Garnet the 7-3 win.
