GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to No. 25 Swarthmore College in Centennial Conference action on Monday.
 
Swarthmore (10-4, 6-1 CC), who is also ranked seventh in the region, swept all six single bouts in straight-sets against Gettysburg (10-6, 5-3 CC).
 
Junior Samantha Boardman (Greenwich, Conn./Brooks School) and sophomore Amanda Vinges (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) put the Bullets on the board after winning in a tiebreaker at No. 1 doubles 8-7 (8-6) against Elise Talley and Sophie Brown.
 
Senior Maria Martinovic (Lawrence Township, N.J./Princeton Day School) went down swinging in the first set against Emma Kassan at the top singles flight before succumbing to a 6-3, 6-4 decision. Vinges battled against Sophie Brown at second singles in the first set, but Brown earned a 7-5, 6-0 win.
 
Gettysburg travels to No. 23 Johns Hopkins University on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
