How It Happened…
  • First Quarter: Tinner netted four of the Bullets eight points to jump to an 8-2 run four minutes into the frame. The Green Terror responded by going on a 14-5 spurt to pull in front 16-13 to close out the frame.
  • Second Quarter: Gettysburg regained the lead after senior Emma Hahner (Forest Hill, Md./C. Milton Wright) and Tinner opened the frame with back-to-back-baskets. A three-pointer by Mehl on the next possession gave McDaniel the one-point advantage. The hosts continued to hold the lead for the next couple of minutes until the Bullets rallied back to tie it at 24-all off a free throw by Tinner. Gettysburg found themselves within one-point off a trey by freshman Olivia Matto (East Petersburg, Pa./Hill School), but McDaniel used a 6-2 run to take the 38-33 lead at intermission.
  • Third Quarter: The Bullets came out from the half by engineering a 7-0 run, including a trey by Gehrin, to boost a 40-38 lead. The Green Terror then soared by outscoring the Bullets 12-2 to hold the largest frame advantage to eight. Gettysburg then closed the gap to one-point after posting an 8-1 run in the final 2:22.
  • Fourth Quarter: The Bullets put on a strong offensive and defensive display by shooting 75 percent (6-of-8) from the field and limiting the Green Terror to only six points, their lowest scoring output of the game. Gettysburg never trailed again after sophomore Avery Bennett (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) connected on a lay-up 34 seconds in to give the Bullets the lead for the remainder of the game. The Bullets bench played a big part into the successful scoring outburst as they notched 10 of the 16 points.
By the Numbers
  • Gettysburg connected on 26-of-55 (47.3 percent) from the floor and 9-of-12 (75 percent) from the free throw line.
  • McDaniel went 23-of-65 (35.4 percent) from the field and 6-of-11 (54.5 percent) from the charity stripe.

Where the Series Stands Now

Quote from the Coach
"Tonight's game was a great team effort against a spirited and motivated McDaniel squad," said head coach Nate Davis. "McDaniel was well prepared and played extremely hard against us. Thankfully, we had our depth come through for us tonight as we had some players come off the bench and make some big plays down the stretch."
