COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Field Hockey kept the No. 10 Ursinus College Bears off the scoreboard for the first quarter but succumbed to the perennial powerhouse Bears 4-0 on Wednesday night.
Sophomore goalkeeper Aron Lankford faced 27 shots and came up with 10 saves.
Marion Carr and Andie Tappenden each recorded a shot on goal for the Garnet.
Ursinus scored its first goal in the 21st minute and then added another in the 23rd minute. The Bears tacked on goals in the 41st and 60th minutes.
Swarthmore travels to McDaniel on Saturday for a 5:30 p.m. conference game.
