ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Haverford College women's soccer team (2-1-1) battled Lebanon Valley (0-2-1) to a 2OT draw on Saturday afternoon in Annville. The Fords tallied in the 74th minute of play, equalizing on a strike from Mia Reyes as the senior captain scored off a well-timed assist from junior Celia Page

Lebanon Valley started strong, scoring on its first shot attempt in just the fifth minute of action. Alyssa Peiffer added her first of the season on the unassisted tally. Despite just the opening goal reflected on the scoreboard, the first half of action was full of scoring chances as the Fords rocketed six shots and LVC countered with seven of their own through the first 45. A flurry of activity in the early goings saw Haverford on the offensive in the attacking third as Ashley Chun rocketed a shot on target and Jackie Corbin and Gabby Cipriano saw their attempts just miss the frame. Claire Cywes got the start in goal on Saturday afternoon, and did well to deal with a challenge from Peiffer in the 13th minute, before her teammates Sadie Kim and Sarah Klink added shot attempts before the halftime break.

The second half again saw Haverford's defense turn away consecutive shot attempts from LVC, before Cywes was called into action, making a save on a Dutchwoman attempt in the 66th minute. In the 74th, Haverford broke through with the equalizer from Reyes before Julie Rebh and Sarah Klink had chances turned away in the 79th and 80th minutes. Alyssa Saito and Corbin added shots in the waning minutes before Kendall Ozorowski had her attempt at a last second game-winner denied in the final ticks before overtime.

The first overtime period was largely controlled by Haverford, as Corbin notched a shot on the frame out of the gates and Cywes made a save in the 100th minute to send the contest to a second overtime. In that final period, the Fords added shots from Klink and a final effort on target in the 105th minute from Page. Cywes made five saves for Haverford, including two in overtime. Page paced Haverford with four total shots, while Ozorowski had a team-best two on target in the contest.

The Fords return to Walton Field on Wednesday for a 5 p.m. contest with Eastern. Haverford then opens up Centennial Conference competition on Saturday, September 18 at No. 13 Dickinson. Kickoff for that contest in Carlisle is slated for 4:30 p.m.
