LANCASTER, Pa. - The Haverford College women's basketball team (2-1) shook off a slow start offensively, rallying in the second half to power past Lycoming (0-3) at the Terry Green Tip-Off Classic inside the Mayser Center on the campus of Franklin & Marshall on Sunday afternoon.

A balanced scoring attack saw starters Cortlyn Morris (11 points) and Ally Landau (12) both tally in double figures while Kayla Robinson again proved to be a force off the bench with a double-double, adding 11 points and 10 rebounds in just 27 minutes of game action. As is often the case, Morris was a force defensively for Haverford, adding four blocks to her ledger. Gia Flamini added five steals, proving to be a pest to the Warriors as Lycoming committed 31 turnovers.

A slow start for both teams saw the Fords struggle to find their rhythm from the field, connecting on just one field goal in the first quarter. Haverford trailed 8-4 after that initial stanza, but began to develop some momentum into the second, with a 10-0 run to gain control at 14-9 with four minutes remaining in the half. Lycoming rallied with a trey from Emily Zoscin to trim the lead to just one in the closing moments of the second, as the Fords headed to the locker rooms up 18-17.

It was a strong third quarter that gave Haverford its boost on Sunday, with Landau putting a bow on a 6-2 spurt with a layup that came with 7:02 to play in the period. On Haverford's next possession, Landau then connected on a triple, and Lauren Howard promptly hit a jumper as the lead hit eight at 29-21. Howard completed a three-point play at the line, and Robinson then notched back-to-back layups to put the Fords in a comfortable spot up 34-22 with five minutes left in the frame.

Caroline Haynes then banked in a three-pointer of her own, making the most of her collegiate debut with a rainbow of a shot that came off an assist from Gia Flamini. Lycoming clawed back to within just 10, but Robinson again keyed a 5-2 spurt that put the Fords up 43-29 with 6:19 remaining in the contest.  Morris and Flamini then tallied key buckets down the stretch to help close out the Warriors, with a trey from Flamini the final dagger as the lead hit 18 with under three minutes to play.

Morris was named to the Terry Greene Tip-Off Classic All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of the day's action. The Fords were facing off with Lycoming for the first time in program history.

Women's Basketball now returns home for a Thursday night contest with Neumann on November 18. The tip-off for that contest is slated for 7:30 p.m. and will be Haverford's final test before the Centennial Conference slate begins on Saturday, November 20 with a matchup against the Red Devils of Dickinson at Gooding '84 Arena (1 p.m.)
