ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - The Swarthmore College golf team tied for fifth place after the final round of the McDaniel Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The Garnet shot a 321 team score on the afternoon after opening play with a 320 on day one of the tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Ankur Malik tied for seventh overall at the tournament after shooting an 80 (+8) in the final round. The senior began the final day in third place after carding a 76 (+4) on the opening day. He ended play with a two-round score of 156 (+11).

Ben Lee carded the team's lowest score of the round with a 78 (+6). Lee moved up to 13th place to earn a top-20 finish with a two-round score of 158 (+14).

Gyan Bains improved five positions to end the tournament tied for 29th place. Bains took two strokes off his first round total as he carded an 80 (+8) to end play.

Michael Brown rounded out the Garnet scorers with a 83 (+11) on the final day. The senior tied for 36th place after opening the tournament with an 82 (+10) in round one.
Chad Kemmerer also competed for Swarthmore with a second round score of 94.
