ORLANDO, Fla.—Swarthmore College Women's Tennis opened up its 2019 spring break trip with a 7-2 loss to Carnegie Mellon University on Saturday.
Swarthmore picked up one of its wins in doubles as Emma Kassan and Vivien Fernandez-Ravelo earned an 8-4 win at third doubles. Sonia Varma and Julia Gokhberg fell 8-2 in top doubles and Elise Talley and Christina Wang fell 8-2 in second doubles.
The Garnet earned a win in fifth singles as freshman Christina Wang won 6-2, 6-2.
Emma Kassan had a close match in second singles. She took the first set 6-4, but dropped the second 6-3 and fell 10-7 in the super tiebreaker.
Swarthmore is back in action on Sunday against Washington University in St. Louis on Sunday.
