HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's soccer team (4-4-2, 1-2-1 CC) defeated Muhlenberg (1-7-1, 1-3 CC) by a 3-0 final on Saturday afternoon at Walton Field. Haverford dominated the game from the opening whistle, controlling the tempo and playing to their style. Haverford tallied four shots in the first 20 minutes of action, with those strikes coming from Jaclyn Corbin and Gabrielle Cipriano.

In the 23rd minute, the Fords earned a corner kick that was headed out of the box. However, that didn't stop Kendall Ozorowski from taking an opportunity on the net. Ozorowski settled the ball, and gracefully floated the ball over the goalkeeper's head at the near post to open the scoring for the Fords with her first career goal.

Following the goal, Haverford kept the pressure on the Mules half, and it didn't take long for Haverford to get yet another attempt to increase their lead. After Liv McMillian was taken down in the box by the Muhlenberg goalkeeper, the referee awarded a penalty kick to the Fords. Jaclyn Corbin stepped up to take the shot, but the Muhlenberg keeper stopped the attempt, keeping the Mules in the game. Corbin finished the game with five shots, including two on goal.

The Fords went into halftime with just a goal lead, but were confident they could score another. The confidence quickly turned to reality just three minutes into the second half. Celia Page found herself on a breakaway that she slotted home past the keeper's left to make it 2-0. McMillian earned the assist with her pass that beat the entire backline of the Mules. Not wanting to take the foot off the gas, McMillian would get a goal of her own in the 50th minute, with the assist on that tally going to Alyssa Saito. Saito now has four assists on the season.

Haverford finished the contest outshooting Muhlenberg by a total 17-8 and holding a slight 6-5 advantage in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Hannah Friedrich earned a clean sheet, her fifth of the season, after registering five saves.

The Fords next game will be a short trip to Bryn Mawr on Wednesday, October 6 at 4 p.m. Haverford will then open up a two-match homestand with a Saturday, October 9 contest against Ursinus.
