MYRTLE BEACH, Fl. - Competing in their first meet of the 2023 outdoor season, the Swarthmore women's track & field team posted impressive results at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge on Saturday, Mar. 11.
The Garnet saw top ten finishes from eight athletes, with senior
Krystle Boadi, senior
Johanna Schubert, senior Madeline Farber, sophomore
Iliana Gonzalez, sophomore
Emily Trelstad, first year
Hannah Swale, first year
Sophia Springer and first year
Tate Garcia all representing the Garnet well.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Boadi got the Garnet going in the 200m, finishing tenth with a time of 26.22.
- In the 400m, Schubert posted a time of 1:03.53, just barely beating out her teammate junior
Miranda Kashynski by 0.16 seconds.
- Running in the 800m open, Farber came in ninth, posting a time of 2:45.75.
- Finishing seventh in the 3000m, Gonzalez tallied a time of 11:48.67.
- The Garnet saw two top finishers in the high jump, with Swale placing eighth with a mark of 1.48m, and Trelstad finishing third with a mark of 1.53m.
- Continuing the run of Garnet success in jumps, Springer came in eighth in the pole vault, notching a mark of 2.75m.
- Rounding out Swarthmore's day on the track, Garcia finished eighth in the shot put, achieving the placement with her mark of 11.10m.
