Women’s Basketball Wins Third Straight

The Muhlenberg women's basketball team outscored Bryn Mawr 44-15 over the second and third quarters as it cruised to its third straight win, 61-32.

The Mules (11-6, 7-5) held a 27-15 lead at the half, only to drop 24 points in the third quarter – their second-highest output in a single quarter this season – to open a 30-point advantage entering the final 10 minutes. The six points Muhlenberg allowed to the Owls (1-17, 0-13) in the first and third quarters matches the second-lowest score allowed in a quarter this year.

The Mules saw 13 different players score a point, led by seniors Carley Hamilton and Eva Sodaitis  with 10 points each. On the defensive end, Sodaitis and junior Ashley Polera each registered new career highs in steals with three and four, respectively.

A couple of freshmen posted the best numbers of their young careers as Laura Horner netted nine points and Amanda Gorski matched her season-high with seven rebounds, five of which came off the offensive glass.

Senior Meghan Falk (pictured above) scored six points in her first career start, while junior Madison Kirchofer flirted with a double-double with eight points and eight rebounds..
