Meet Highlights
- Gettysburg easily won both relays, out-pacing Washington by over eight seconds in the 400 medley and taking the 400 free relay by eight seconds.
- Proxmire continued his domination of the 500-1000 in dual competitions, sweeping the events for the sixth time over the last two seasons. He won the 1,000-yard race by 27 seconds and took the 500 by over six seconds.
- Cox turned in an impressive collegiate debut by sweeping the backstroke races. After winning the 100-yard race by over three seconds and clocking the seventh-fastest time in program history at 52.43, he cruised to a five-second victory in the 200.
- Yancey fended off a pair of Washington swimmers for his individual wins. He beat Teague Sauter by over two seconds in the 100 breast and slipped by Andrew Feeley by 0.95 seconds to win the 100 free.
- Pickering and junior Jack Edelson (Charlotte, N.C. Providence Senior) began their season duel in the 200 fly with the sophomore winning by over three seconds. The two took turns holding the program's 200 fly record last season with Edelson setting it last December at the Gettysburg Invite and Pickering breaking it at the conference meet. Pickering added a runner-up performance in the 500 free and won the 200 IM by nearly four seconds. Edelson notched a win Saturday in the 100 fly with time of 52.51.
- Petrillo had a busy day swimming in four events, punctuated by a win in the 200 breast. The Gettysburg junior trailed Gage Mandrell through the first 100 yards before making his move and blowing past the Shoremen swimmer with a 34.24 split in his final 50 yards.
