Outstanding performances in the triple jump highlighted Opening Day of the indoor season for the Muhlenberg track and field teams.
Despite sending a total of only 20 athletes to meets at Lehigh and Franklin & Marshall, the Mules combined for 17 Centennial Conference-qualifying performances.
Freshman
Corrin Ferrizzi won the triple jump at the Lehigh Season Opener, breaking a 15-year-old school record. Her jump of 37-6 on her third attempt topped the old mark of 36-11 and was an Atlantic Region qualifier.
At the same meet, junior
Cameron Ford (pictured above) came in second in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 42-9½. He topped his previous best by nine inches and moved into fifth place on the all-time performance list.
Over at the Diplomat Open, junior
Jason Richwall posted an Atlantic-qualifying time in the 3,000 meters, coming in third in 8:43.05 to enter the performance list in third place.
Two athletes - junior
Kem Montina for the men and freshman
Kayleigh Durning for the women - posted times that were good for 10th place on the performance lists in the 60-meter hurdles.
