YORK, Pa. - Anchored by the first-year trio of
Emma Johnston,
Tori May, and
Isabel McGovern the Dickinson women's swimming team left the York Natatorium with a convincing 128-74 win over the host York College of Pennsylvania on Wednesday night.
Dickinson began the night strong with a win in the 200-yard medley relay thanks to the team of
Bella Gerkin,
Sarah McHenry,
Caroline Wasielevski and McGovern posting a time of 1:54.35. The other Devil team of
Sydney Farling, Isobell O'Connell,
Norah Wilson and
Margie Winter finished in third with a 1:59.37.
May notched the individual win of the night besting the field in the 1000-yard freestyle with a mark of 11:07.02 beating her closest competitor by 19-seconds. Another first-year
Annelyse Warner took fourth in 12:27.70.
The Red and White were right back on the winners stand during the 200-yard freestyle as McGovern continued her unbeaten run this season by stopping the clock at 1:56.26. Teammate
Caroline Christianson was five ticks back in second with a 2:01.90, while O'Connell finished fourth (2:07.96).
Wasielevski secured the victory for the 50-yard freestyle by hitting the wall in 24.87, followed right behind by Wilson and her 25.50.
Johnston picked up another win for the Devs in the 200-yard individual medley clocking in at 2:13.07, while classmate Farling seized third with a 2:27.52. Gerkin also competed posting a 2:32.10 for fourth.
McGovern continued her dominance during the 100-yard butterfly by winning the race with a mark of 58.78. Winter landed just outside the Top-3 in fourth at 1:08.45.
Dickinson took first and third for the 100-yard freestyle as Wasielevski won the event by clocking in at 55.64, while Christianson earned third (57.55).
McHenry was the highest finished Devil within the 100-yard backstroke claiming second with a 1:04.18, followed two seconds later by O'Connell and her 1:07.83.
It was a "one-two" DC punch in the 500-yard freestyle with Johnston grabbing her second win of the night at 5:20.65 with May behind her in second with a 5:26.67.
Farling locked up the final podium slot during the 100-yard breaststroke by finishing third in 1:13.95, while Gerkin secured fourth at 1:14.13.
The team of Christianson, Johnston, May and Wilson won the final race of the night the 200-yard freestyle relay by clocking in at 1:43.48, while their other group of
Molly Tate, McHenry, Warner and Winter grabbed third in 1:53.33.
