Farace Leads Men's Cross Country at Navy Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - McDaniel College men's cross country senior Wyatt Farace finished 48th to lead the Green Terror to an eighth-place finish at the Navy Invitational on Friday at the USNA Cross Country Course.

McDaniel was one of just three non-Division I schools to compete in the event, joining Rowan and Hagerstown Community College. The host Midshipmen finished first with 21 total points while George Mason was second (56) and Richmond came in third (99).

The Green Terror finished three points ahead of Division I Howard.

In his first race of the season, Farace finished the 8K course in a time of 26:09, the fourth-fastest time in program history. His time was also the second-fastest time by a McDaniel student-athlete on the USNA Cross Country Course.

Freshman Jack Sears, who was the first Green Terror to cross the line in his first collegiate race at the Baltimore Metro Meet on Sept. 2, ran a time of 27:16 to place 77th.
 
Freshman Ronan Perrone placed 86th with a time of 28:34 while junior Tyler Richardson was 87th in 28:44 and junior Nick Raumann finished 89th with a time of 29:29.
 
McDaniel returns to action next Saturday, September 24th at the Hornet Harrier Invitational hosted by Shenandoah University.
