Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women's Basketball Streak Snapped

Despite continuing to rack up the steals on defense, the Muhlenberg women's basketball team struggled to generate offense and fell at home to Dickinson, 62-53, for its first loss after four straight wins.

The setback kept the Mules (13-7, 9-6) tied with Ursinus in the loss column for fourth place in the Centennial Conference with less than two weeks to go in the regular season.

Muhlenberg forced 23 turnovers against a Red Devil squad that came in ranked 24th in Division III in fewest turnovers per game (13.5). The Mules recorded steals on 16 of the 23 turnovers, finishing with double figures in steals for the fifth consecutive game.

Steals led directly to all four baskets in a 10-0 spanning the first and second quarters that turned a 10-5 deficit into a 15-10 lead. The Red Devils (10-11, 7-9), however, came back to take a 25-20 lead at halftime.

Dickinson shot 4-of-7 from three-point range in the third quarter to extend its lead, and the Mules never got within single digits in the fourth quarter.

Sophomore Ny Thomas (pictured above) led Muhlenberg with 14 points, while freshman Margaux Eripret scored 10. Junior Emilie Benton set a career high with 5 steals.
